Step Into a Living Myth

Something has been stirring all summer… and now, the Yaksha awakens.

The Yaksha Showcase is the culminating exhibit of EarthLab Club’s 21-day Young Creators Summer Programme — YAKSHA. Over three weeks, children aged 7–16 have collaborated with visionary mentors to co-create an immersive storyworld inspired by the myth of the Yaksha of Bandarpunch and the threatened river Tons.

This isn’t just an exhibition. It’s a multi-sensory experience where projection, interactive tech, sound, story, and sculpture come alive — imagined by young creators, and built with their hands, voices, and ideas.

A Myth Reborn — In Light, Sound, and Movement

Guided by a team of artists, technologists, and educators —

Ansh Kumar (Installations & Lead Artist),

Pratiksha Chauhan (Creative Design & Set Building),

Sai K. Mulpuru (Technology),

Yash Nath Jha (Sound),

Prashant Nawani (Words),

and curated by Naved Farooqui —the Yaksha showcase brings together the disciplines of art, ecology, and imagination.

Visitors will witness:

  • Interactive Tech Installations inspired by environmental themes — from poaching to pollution
  • Immersive Set Designs made from scrap and recycled materials with the support of Waste Warriors
  • Sonic Storytelling where the myth is retold through the voices, beats, and soundscapes created by children
  • Projection Mapping & Visual Design animating myths and memories
  • Poetry, Riddles & Myth Cards — ways to think, reflect, and play inside the story

Why Visit?

Because this is what the future of learning looks like:

Hands-on. Imaginative. Ecological. Technological.

The Yaksha Showcase is:

  • A living museum built by young creators, for the community
  • A sensory journey into storytelling through art, tech, and sound
  • A call to reimagine education through collaboration, play, and purpose

It’s a story of myth and memory, nature and noise, creativity and care.

EarthLab’s Exhibit Production Lab With Pratiksha Chauhan. Young Creators Programme : The Yaksha

Young Creators Programme – Yaksha 2025

At EarthLab Club this June, waste turned into wonder and creativity took shape — quite literally. The Set Building Workshop & Exhibit Production Lab is one of Yaksha 2025’s most hands-on experiences, a raw, real, and joyful journey where children built an immersive forest exhibit from scratch.

Over the course of the set building workshop, children rolled up their sleeves to work with paper, paint, masking tape, wires, cardboard, plastic bottles, old electronics, even bicycle pedals — transforming everyday materials into a forest-world fit for myth. Led by multidisciplinary designer and curator Pratiksha Chauhan, this  exhibit production lab brought together art, sustainability, and spatial storytelling in the most tangible way. This is where hands get dirty, ideas take form, and set design becomes a celebration of resourcefulness, imagination, and teamwork.

What Participants Will Explore:
Creative Set-Building

  • Build forest-inspired mountains, leaves, rivers, and props using cardboard, cloth, and POP in the Exhibit Production lab.
  • Paint, tear, glue, mask, and layer recycled materials into immersive environmental elements
  • Construct exhibit features like sculptural trees, bulldozers, and keepers’ elements in the Set Building workshop.

Waste-to-Art Installations

  • Discover how to reuse objects like old cameras and mobiles, cans, paper scraps, broken suitcases and other plastics.
  • Learn how improvisation and constraint can spark creativity in the set building workshop.
  • Discuss environmental impact and the power of upcycled art in the  exhibit production lab.

Designing for Exhibition

  • Understand how spatial layout, light, and form work in creating immersive exhibits
  • Collaborate in building story-driven installation zones across Yaksha’s narrative
  • Contribute to the final transformation of EarthLab Club into the Yaksha world

Why It Matters:
In a world of fast consumption, building with our hands and our hearts  is revolutionary. The Exhibit Production Lab teaches children how to think through materials, work in teams, and embrace the unpredictability of making. It’s a space where mess is part of the process, where failure is welcome, and where anything, even an old suitcase can become a story. By the end of the workshop, every participant will have shaped a physical part of the Yaksha Exhibit be it leaves or the mountains and they will learn that creativity doesn’t need perfection, only their presence.

Your Mentor:
Pratiksha Chauhan – Set & Exhibit Mentor
A NIFT graduate and Creative Director by profession, Pratiksha Chauhan is a curator of curiosities and immersive experiences. With over 11 years of experience working with Myntra, VICE Media, and Culture Machine, she specializes in building worlds — across music, culture, and lifestyle. At EarthLab, she brings her playful design philosophy to life, showing children how imagination and improvisation can turn even waste into wonder.

EarthLab’s Sonic Storytelling Workshop with Yash Jha and Prashant Nawani. Young Creators Programme : The Yaksha

Welcome to EarthLab Club’s Young Creators Summer Programme 2025

At EarthLab Club this June, sound becomes myth, and story takes root in rhythm. The Sonic Storytelling Lab is one of Yaksha 2025’s most immersive creative spaces — a collaborative journey into the emotional and imaginative power of music, sound design, voice, and narrative.

Over four days of the sonic storytelling lab, participants will craft the sonic identity of the Yaksha universe — composing original tracks, writing poetic chants, shaping atmospheric soundscapes, and building story arcs drawn from nature, memory, and imagination.

This is where stories breathe, sing, and resonate — led by acclaimed mentors Prashant Nawani and Yash Nath Jha, who together guide children in building the emotional backbone of EarthLab’s Yaksha world.

What Participants Will Explore:

Sonic World-Building

  • Compose original soundtracks, chants, and ambient textures
  • Use digital tools to build mood, tension, and character themes
  • Explore how rhythm and tone create emotion and narrative

Story & Lyric Writing

  • Develop myth-inspired poems, chants, and lyrical narratives
  • Use journaling and guided storytelling prompts to shape characters and arcs
  • Work with metaphor, memory, and voice to tell meaningful stories

Collaborative Sound Design

  • Layer field recordings, beats, and group sounds into immersive experiences
  • Design sonic transitions for moments of conflict, transformation, and hope
  • Contribute to the final Yaksha soundscape — an audio world built with peers and mentors

Why It Matters:

In a fast, screen-saturated world, listening is radical.

The Sonic Storytelling Lab teaches children to hear with intention — to shape their emotions, ideas, and worldviews through rhythm and voice. It fosters deep collaboration and nurtures the future skills of empathy, creativity, and expressive communication.

By the end of the sonic storytelling lab, each participant will become a part of something larger — a mythos told in sound, formed in community, and presented as part of the Yaksha Exhibit.

Your Mentors:

Yash Nath Jha – Music & Sound Mentor

Yash is a composer, educator, and multi-instrumentalist who creates immersive soundscapes blending nature, ambient textures, and experimental rhythms. With a background in working with young learners and exploring the emotional possibilities of music, Yash brings sensitivity, curiosity, and imagination into every sonic session — from composing elemental sound environments to co-creating original songs with children.

Prashant Nawani – Voice, Lyrics & Story Mentor

Prashant is a poet, performer, and theatre-maker whose work bridges storytelling, lyrical expression, and participatory education. He brings years of experience guiding young people through music, movement, and metaphor — helping them discover their voices and shape meaningful stories. From chants and collaborative poems to sound-based narrative puzzles, Prashant makes storytelling joyful, expressive, and deeply personal.

Together, Yash and Prashant will co-create with the students the living, breathing sonic experience of Yaksha.

What Makes These Mentors Different?

The masterminds behind the curation of The Yaksha are not barely mentors or instructors, rather co-creators, who are deeply committed and happy to guide children through the unknown, open up new challenges for thinking and creating differently, providing a safe environment that inspires risk-taking. They walk beside the children, not ahead of them—guiding, questioning, listening, and pushing boundaries.

What sets them apart is not just their expertise, but the joy they find in nurturing young minds as they tinker, build, and boldly imagine. They offer more than skills—they offer a safe space to explore, take risks, and build with intention.

In this shared creative lab, children learn that making something new means being brave enough to ask “what if?”—and having someone there who believes in their answer.

Join the Story!

The Yaksha isn’t a normal school camp—it’s a living, breathing world that children help design and bring to life. With real-world mentors by their side, young creators will build, play, imagine, and uncover the power of story, nature, and creative tech. This summer, come shape a world where curiosity leads the way.

Unlike routine hobby classes, The Yaksha is an original, immersive EarthLab creation—where myth meets motion, creativity meets cause, and every child finds their thread in a larger story. It’s not about making projects. It’s about discovering purpose.

Is this more like a summer camp or a course?

It’s neither—and both. It blends the freedom and fun of summer with the depth and direction of a creative lab. Think of it as a purposeful adventure—part workshop, part quest, and entirely unforgettable.

  • Basics of coding and IoT
  • Light and sound design
  • Installation art and spatial storytelling
  • Myth-based narrative creation
  • Music production and soundscapes
  • Environmental consciousness and regenerative thinking
Will my child be overwhelmed or lost in a creative/tech programme like this?

Not at all. Each child is guided through age-appropriate activities. The emphasis is on curiosity, collaboration, and joy—not pressure or perfection. We create a supportive environment where all voices matter, and where trying something new is celebrated.

What if my child is shy or introverted?

We work in small groups, and our mentors are trained to help every child find their pace and space. Many of our most thoughtful contributors have been quiet observers who surprised even their parents with what they created.

Who are the mentors?

Our mentors include installers, storytellers, engineers, musicians, and designers with global experience. Each brings hands-on guidance to help children build original projects.

What is the student-to-mentor ratio?

To ensure meaningful guidance and hands-on mentorship, we maintain a low student-to-mentor ratio. Each small group works directly with a mentor, receiving personal attention and support.

How does the wide age group (7–17) work out?

Participants are grouped into small, age-based cohorts, each exploring ideas at a level suited to their stage of development. While each group tackles different complexities and creation challenges, the overall experience is deeply collaborative. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone contributes—and learns not just from mentors, but from each other.

The Yaksha: An Immersive Summer Experience (Young Creators Programme 2025)

The Yaksha

An Immersive Summer Experience

5th June – 21st June, 2025.

10 a.m – 5: 00 pm daily.

Earthlab Club Studio, Shivam Vihar, Dehradun

Theme: Myth, Memory & the Future of Nature

Welcome to EarthLab Club’s Young Creators Summer Programme 2025

At The Yaksha, your child doesn’t just learn—they build, invent, question, and create.

Inspired by the mythical guardians of the natural world, this 15-day young creator’s summer programme invites students aged 7 to 17 to imagine and design a world where rivers whisper, forests respond, and every sound tells a story. Together, we’ll bring to life an interactive exhibit powered by light, sound, tech, and narrative—designed by the kids themselves.

Programme Breakdown: Modules of Imagination

The Yaksha, Earthlab Club’s young creator’s summer programme is designed as four focused, skill-building modules—each led by field experts—woven into the larger world-building experience. Alongside these, the Set Design Lab runs throughout the programme and is exclusive to full-programme participants.

STORYTELLING LAB

Led by Mohd Hammad Farooqui
Build the myth. In this 2-day lab, participants create the characters, conflicts, and questions at the heart of The Yaksha. Drawing from folklore and nature, children shape the emotional and ethical spine of the entire experience.

DESIGN LAB

Led by Ansh Kumar
Light meets imagination. Through projection mapping and interactive art, children transform surfaces into living stories. They explore tools like TouchDesigner, sensors, and conductive materials to bring their designs to life. Group installations blend space, sound, and movement.

TECH LAB

Led by Ansh Kumar | Mentored by Sai Krishna
Where myth becomes machine. Participants design responsive, tech-driven elements—forests that speak, rivers that remember, systems that sense. Using sensors, sound, and movement, they build environmental stories that react to the world around them.

SOUND LAB

Led by Yash Nath Jha, Prashant Nawani & mentored by Naved Farooqui
Craft the sound of the story. Children build immersive soundscapes using loops, lyrics, rhythms, and ambient recordings. They score emotions, compose songs, and shape the sonic identity of The Yaksha—from whispers in the forest to the roar of forgotten gods.

SET DESIGN LAB

Led by Pratiksha Chauhan
The integrative core. Over 15 days, participants design and build The Yaksha’s immersive environment—combining story, tech, visuals, and sound. Think kinetic sculptures, elemental zones, and interactive spaces that breathe with the narrative.

A World They Can Step Into

The final exhibit is designed like a real-life educational escape room where each participant is given a “Yaksha Card” and completes elemental quests around Air, Water, and Earth. Unlock stories, earn powers, and build a living world that breathes myth and mirrors our future.
